Shore Dives
Red Bait Reef
This is perfect for the beginner diver or those wanting to refresh their skills on a shallower site. Octopus and starfish share their space with the red bait that gives this reef its name. Juvenile tropical fish are often spotted and schools of strepies sway gently in the shallows
Shallow Blinders:
The shallower side of a trio of submerged pinnacles close to shore. This reef is a good place to spot raggies in season and is covered in anemones, sponges and fans. Seals occasionally visit the divers on this reef
Boat Dives:
Deep Blinders:
You can find this colourful reef on the seaward side of the pinnacles . Rays are often spotted on the edge of the reef lying on top the sand. Healthy coral growth supports the many fish species which reside on the reef
Jacob’s Reef
This reef is also known as Jacob’s Poort, it is characterised by a wall from 14m rising up to a pinnacle just below the surface offering a stunning and vibrant upward view. Sightings of small sharks, parrotfish, steenbras, romans and rockcod are common
Dolphin’s Column
A spectacular reef only a short boat ride from the beach. The reef is populated with colourful sea fans, sponges and soft corals. Crustaceans, nudibranchs and a wide variety of fish are to be observed
Grootbank: “The Sodwana Bay of the East Coast”
Big game fish and ragged tooth sharks can be spotted amongst a spectacular maze of swimthroughs, drop-offs and caves rising to a pinnacle breaking the surface. Sea stars aplenty adorn the vibrant reef
Playground:
This is an immense reef situated between Nature’s Valley and Grootbank . Large terraces rise spectacularly from 24m to within 10m of the surface. Large Mako sharks have been spotted here
Whale Rock:
This site is one for the adventurous diver, located just off the Robberg Peninsula. A large colony of seals resides on the peninsula and this can attract various interesting and awesome predators
