Arniston Arniston is a leisurely two-hour drive from Cape Town, on a road that meanders through the beautiful rolling hills of the Overberg region. It is named after the British 'Arniston' which sank here in 1815. It is best known for the Kassiesbaai area which historically is home to Arniston's fishing community, a picturesque little village preserved intact with its rightful owners, providing much of Arniston's old world charm. Arniston has unspoilt white beaches, and pristine countryside, fresh sea air, good fishing, clear rock pools for snorkelling, ocean wrecks for diving and a multitude of coastal caves to explore.
